Andrew L. Crabtree is the principal of the Law Offices of Andrew L. Crabtree P.C. in Melville, New York.  The firm represents businesses and individuals in federal and state trial courts, as well as in arbitrations and before administrative tribunals, involving commercial disputes, constitutional claims, partnership and shareholder disputes, breach of contract claims, business torts, unfair competition, employment claims, trade secrets and intellectual property cases.  Mr. Crabtree has also represented contractors, owners, municipalities, state agencies, developers and design professionals relating to public and private construction projects, mechanics’ liens, commercial lease disputes and landlord-tenant matters.

He has tried numerous cases in both federal and state courts, and has argued appeals before the New York State Court of Appeals, the Appellate Divisions of the First and Second Departments and the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.  Prior to establishing the firm, Mr. Crabtree was counsel to Farrell Fritz, P.C., and also served as an Assistant District Attorney with the Appeals and Felony Trial Bureaus in Queens County, New York.

The co-author of “Trial and Post-Trial Motions,” chapter 23 of Federal Civil Practice (NYSBA Albany 1997), Mr. Crabtree is a frequent speaker on construction law and real estate matters before the Suffolk Academy of Law and other seminars and has lectured on New York Civil Practice at St. John’s University School of Law.  Recently, Mr. Crabtree served as a panelist for the New York State Judicial Institute On Professionalism In The Law He is a member of the American Bar Association (Litigation Section and Forum on the Construction Industry), the New York State Bar Association (Commercial and Federal Litigation Section), as well as a member of the Nassau County Bar Association (Commercial Litigation and Construction Committees – Chairman 2005-07).

Mr. Crabtree graduated from Fordham University Law School in 1992, as Trial Advocacy Editor of the Moot Court Board and a recipient of the American Jurisprudence Award in Federal Civil Procedure. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts Degree, magna cum laude, in Political Science from the State University of New York at Albany in 1989, as a member of Phi Beta Kappa.

Mr. Crabtree has been appointed by the Roslyn Union Free School District to serve as Vice Chair of the School District’s Forensic Audit Committee and was appointed by the Mayor of the Village of East Hills to be a member of the Construction and Demolition Committee for the development of the new East Hills Park, at the site of the former Air National Guard station.  Mr. Crabtree is admitted to practice in the State of New York, the United States District Court Eastern and Southern Districts of New York, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
